The heart of the clinical services we offer is our office-based psychotherapy practice. We provide individual, couples, and family therapy. Bilingual psychotherapy and testing (in Spanish) are also available.
Our clinical staff has a wealth of experience treating numerous issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), chronic illness, substance abuse, and school adjustment problems.
Our range of clinical orientations includes Psychoanalytic, Gestalt, Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral, Play Therapy, EMDR, and Art Therapy.
Process Groups
Therapy groups offer a safe container for each member to learn about themselves in the context of group relationships. In addition, participants support each other in their process of growth and healing. The overall aim is to uncover and change long-standing patterns of interpersonal behavior and to elicit authentic relating. During meetings, group members have the opportunity to explore how they manage stress and anxiety in the face of interpersonal vulnerability. In addition to sharing concerns, the group members participate in role-play exercises and mindfulness-based activities.
Overall, a process group addresses issues of the mind, body, and spirit. Topics might include: navigating medical/psychological diagnosis, processing trauma, grieving losses, sharing parenting struggles, exploring existential/spiritual concerns, understanding dynamics related to substance use, and defining identity issues of self-concept, gender and sexuality.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy is an integrative, evidence based treatment modality that helps people heal from traumatic events and life disturbing experiences.
It facilitates the activation of a person’s inherent processing system to integrate unprocessed memories which have been stored in the brain, and which are causing distressing symptoms and behaviors.
EMDR Therapy is a recommended treatment of choice by several international mental health organizations for healing PTSD from traumatic events such as rape, sexual abuse, auto accidents, and combat.
